A Legacy in Motion

Claudia Babb Reich is originally from Suffield, Connecticut, and David Reich is from Kernersville, North Carolina. They met in High Point when Claudia was attending High Point College, now High Point University. They have been married for 57 years and are the proud parents of four adult children, Carrie, David III, Peter, and Will, and 9 grandchildren.

Together, the family owns Best Logistics Group in Kernersville, North Carolina. The family business began as Reich Transportation, a small operation on Main Street in Kernersville started by Polly and David Reich Sr. to generate a little retirement income. In 1988, David Jr. took over the business and helped grow it into the company it is today, where two of their sons and nearly 750 valued employees work.

In 2008, Claudia and David established the Reich Family Foundation as a way to put their family’s values into motion through philanthropy. Guided by a deep respect for the dignity of every person, the Foundation works to increase awareness of barriers, open doors of opportunity, and help create pathways to a stronger future for individuals, families, and communities.

For many years, the younger grandchildren, known as Generation 3 or G3, were given the opportunity to practice philanthropy. Today, the Foundation’s Board of Directors includes three generations, as some of David and Claudia’s oldest grandchildren now serve as board members.
